Discover your Environment
Raising awareness of the World around us – rocks and minerals, landforms, biodiversity, earth history and human history. Offering a range of topics incorporating both educational elements & fun activities. Encouraging an inquiring, creative mind and artistic spirit
Fieldtrip
Experience your coastline as an outdoor museum and a living laboratory. Discovery learning through fun games and creative activities, working in groups and teams. Activities such as Beach Detectives are designed to develop observational skills, encourage curiosity and imagination. A scavenger hunt highlights what is natural to the beach and what does not belong. A treasure hunt will exercise both body and mind with clues to solve, questions to answer, a code to decipher and a hidden treasure to find.
What are the rocks along my beach? Incorporates the rock cycle, how rocks and minerals are formed, erosion, plate tectonics, earth history, ancient desert, ocean and volcanic environments. Discover all the different species that inhabit the dynamic environment of our seashore with a rock pool survey combined with a habitat game.
Create a giant mosaic on the sand using all the natural materials found on the beach (Pebbles, Sand, Seaweed & Shells). A Pebble Pledge is a good way of thinking about what we can all do to help conserve and protect the environment.
And if you can’t come to the coastline – no problem! – I will bring the wonders of our planet Earth to your school.
All fieldtrips and school visits are adapted and delivered at a level suitable for the participants.
